30 Stories of Family Arts:
Art at the Heart CIC

Many cultures around the globe celebrate the coming of spring in special ways. The Hindu festival of Holi is no exception. In fact, it is a celebration full of excitement that invigorates people with literal splashes of colour! It is a chance to take a break from the more rigid codes of conduct and welcome the return of the sun. It’s a time to have some fun!

Art at the Heart ran their Annual Holi Festival of Colour over a weekend in March 2022, with a range of immersive visual and sensory participatory experiences including painting and stencilling, weaving, model-making, giant Paisley pattern workshops and an exhibition.

Art at the Heart operate as a non-profit social enterprise, committed to combating inequality through creative and cultural education. As an Arts Award Centre, they support young people in their artistic ambitions, and offer work experience, volunteering opportunities and internships for those pursuing arts careers. Their work is delivered in venues that maximise accessibility, support inclusion and celebrate diversity.

Art at the Heart CIC have been shortlisted for Best Family Arts Activity in the 2022 Fantastic for Families Awards. Winners will be announced on 16 November 2022 in the free online awards ceremony.
